To have what it takes to be like the rest
In this dark vacuum
The truth is revealed
Mass delusion becomes the greater appeal
Running from the problem brings me less pain
But the more I hear the lies I just can’t turn away

Defiling the innocent to satisfy a cheap thrill
An act of butchering the weak and helpless
It must be so hard to think when you’re fighting the urge to kill
And it just doesn’t stop right there
Seeking to exploit the agony of others
On your bullshit quest for enlightenment
Imposing a sense of entitlement to justify your actions
Cast aside your ideals fulfilling your pathetic fantasy
What really makes you strong is what shows your idiocy
In the end you’ll be praised as a hero
Not like the spineless coward you are true to be
Bringing pain in the blink of an eye

Wavering at the thought of failure
The booming sound of the door slamming behind you
Trapping you in the depths of hell
A sliver of pale light illuminates your face
Exposing a mournful visage
Thinking back on the times that once were
Concerned with your false image of caring
Destiny unfolded right in front of you
Negligent action got you where you are
Now feel no shame it’s all over now

That have grown weak from years of toil
An outward disposition to smile
Because there’s real hurt dwelling inside
A frail hollow shell that has given its insides away
To someone who needs it more than they do
Dropping it all to submit to a command to follow
Making the ultimate sacrifice abandoning a dream

Failing and falling constantly is all we’ve ever known
The scars get covered up and now the memories fade away

The wounds that bleed humanity for all time
How do we continue on and on?
Because there’s nothing left
Not even a spark of hope

Now it’s a whole new world that we struggle through
Encaged in the black heart of reality
People are estranged and time has changed
But there’s nothing to do now
Emphasis purely on what we used to be and not as we are
Is the memory worth looking back on?
Coddling your simple needs for your simple needs
Find sanctuary in this moment
A destiny free of illusions

Begging for your undivided attention
Making all problems your own
When you neglected them from the start
Wearing the disguise of someone who has sympathy
Covering up the stench of your festering heart
Benefit healing problems you create
Fueling your drive to conquer

Fruitless Struggle

Trudging forward in existence with no meaning in life
Total dissatisfaction with only surviving
We make all the efforts we can to wipe clean the slate
To make this world a better place but it becomes a fruitless struggle
When the simple solution just knocks on every door
We choose to cover our ears we don’t want to hear anymore
Run and hide during times of change buy into society’s problems
No matter what they sell you’ll be fooled like a sucker
Confusion gives way to anger lash out at every chance
You just can’t take it so you’re giving them control
A form of erratic behavior jerked around in every way
Don’t know what to think so you stop thinking at all
But no matter how hard we try
There’s an ongoing struggle against evil and the conflict will never stop
Once again people are fed deceit time after time
And when they hear the truth they hope it’s a lie

Giving it all to watch the goal slip through your fingers
The overwhelming feeling of dread bubbling up
Making the struggles and work seem all for not
And it becomes an impossible task to scale this mountain alone
So much difficulty with no relief
Lured by the false promise that award awaits at the top
Testing your true convictions
Putting dedication on the line
Take a look at yourself
And ask “is it all really worth it?”
Beliefs in faith only getting darker and darker
Extinguished by the powers that be
Staring down upon you with disgust
Impossible to advance any farther
All for not

Spent time tilling the fields of discontent
It won’t be long now until vengeance is mine
You made it so hard for me in my past
And now I carry this scar for life
Wince and groan from the agony of hitting rock bottom

All the worthless effort and pain lost in time
Living and dying for what we feel is right
Took some time to understand now I can see it’s all a lie
Evil lurking in the shadows and leaving figureheads to cast the blame for their mistakes
Fragile human masses fall deep into their trap manipulated for their gain
Temptation for power and control forcing people into heinous acts
Savage mutilation continues on and on
Leaving permanent scars and no one’s asking why
